Swan Housing Association, (“Swan”) a public benefit entity, owns and manages over 11,000 properties in East London and Essex and provides affordable homes for people who cannot afford to rent or buy on the open market including affordable rent and shared ownership properties.
Swan also provides general needs housing services and services to our leaseholders; provides NHS key worker, accommodation supported housing accommodation and care; and invests in our communities. We also carry out large scale regeneration activities to develop sustainable communities.
Swan owns over 1500 homes around the Laindon Centre and is committed to making the long awaited regeneration of Laindon Shopping Centre happen. Swan has a long history of bringing about regeneration in East London and Essex and is currently working with its regeneration partners including the Greater London Authority and the Homes and Communities Agency on a number of key projects including projects with London Borough of Tower Hamlets; London Borough of Barking and Basildon Borough Council. The majority of our regeneration projects are being built by NU living, Swan Group’s developer.
The completion of the second year of Swan’s ambitious three year corporate strategy sees us on track to deliver in excess of 1,000 new homes, investing 10,000 hours in community engagement activities and £100m, in collaboration with our partners, to regenerate the communities we serve by 2017.
